Act of Consecration

Act of personal consecration of a Knight to his Queen and Lady

O blessed and immaculate Virgin Mary Queen and Lady of the Militia Templi, refuge and consolation of your Knights, prostrated before your throne, I choose you as my Advocate before God.

Like all of my fellow Knights, I have been consecrated to your service since the day of my Profession and Investiture; therefore, I pray to you, O Mother of God and My Mother, to consider me in the number of your faithful servants and to keep your protection over me always and everywhere, helping me in life and in death, in the peace of the convent and in the battles of the world. Be me guide; do not scorn me, take care of me and do with me what pleases you the most.

Bless me, therefore and never let me offend your Son, defend me in temptations, strengthen me in faithfulness to my vocation and vows, keep me out of danger, provide for my needs, counsel me in my doubts, console me in afflictions, help me in my infirmities and in a special way in the throes of death; do not let the devil glory in having ensnared me who am consecrated to you, but cause me to join you in heaven to thank you and with you to praise and love Jesus, my Redeemer for all eternity.

So that I may not harm anyone unjustly, I put into your hands the sword entrusted to me as a symbol of the defense of the Holy Church, widows, orphans and all the servants of God, against the Violence of pagans and heretics.

I entrust to your intercession before the mercy of God, athe souls of all deceased fellow Knights of the ancient and new Militia, those who have died serenely in peace and gloriously in war for the defense of Holy Places and pilgrims, in the torment of torture and in the martyrdom of the funeral pyre, yesterday and today, champions of the Catholic Faith and fidelity to their vows.

O Mother of mercy, who has been constituted Queen, Lady and Advocate of the Militia, to you I entrust the entire Order, its propagation, its fidelity to ideals and service and its interests.  I commend to your protection my fellow Knights, my family, my relatives, benefactors, young people and all those who pledge themselves to the Order.

*Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence I fly unto you, O Virgins of virgins, my Mother.  To you I come and before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.  O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer me again. (Memorare prayer of St. Bernard)

O Lady and our Queen of the Militia, pray for us. Amen

With ecclesiastical approval and of the Order Partial Indulgence
