Liturgical Calendar

(Drafted by Don Franco Maria Quoëx. Approved by His Excellency, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Siena) 

Instructions:

From March 13th, 1993, the Militia Templi used the liturgy according to the Missal and the Office approved by Pope John XXIII in 1962; on June 30th, 1995 and afterwards, the Archbishop of Siena, His Excellency Rev. Mons. Gaetano Bonicelli, adopted the “Ecclesia Dei” indult for the Militia Templi; then in accordance with the Motu Proprio “Summorum Pontificum” of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI.

All the members of the Militia are held to this standard for the recitation of the Breviary, wherever it is possible, and for the celebration of the Holy Mass, as it was established by the General Chapter of Tignale del Garda on September 27th – 29th, 2002 A.D., and modified by the General Chapter of Esztergom (Hungary) on July 27th – 31st, 2006.

The liturgical calendar of the Militia Templi must be harmonized with the general Roman calendar and that of the particular diocese, according to the the principle of priority.

18: Anniversary (1314) of the martyrdom of the Grand Master of the Temple, Jacques de Molay, and of other Dignitaries and Knights of the Temple and commemoration of all the Deceased of the old and of the new Order.
